I now remeber just how harsh To Your Eternity can be. I think that because Fushi is immortal and can turn into other characters, at least physically, the writer feels ok with just massacaring everyone else. You just shouldn’t get attached to anyone.
I had been lulled into a fals sense of security but I’m on high alert now!

This episode was a bit of a speedrun through Bon’s characet development. But we always knew that Bon was a good guy. Not even deep down or anything. He was always a genuinly nice guy. He was just a bit immature. Ok, a lot immature. And possibly short sighted, wilingly so. That’s why in day to day situations he can come off as selfish or deeply insensitive. But when the chips are down and it really matters, he’ll try to do the right thing.
Putting him in a cage with Chabo, was a great way to show that.
I also like that we only hear Todo this week. She’s like a voice of reason and comfort. An agel or a ghost in her own right. It was a nice touch.

I really thought Fushi was going to get out of that iron block just brimming with wrath. All things considered, he took the situation considerably better than most would and managed to keep a cool head about it.
I was fully expecting him to go straight to the Mayor and that cleric and either scare the ish outof them or turn into a giant monster bear and smoosh them. Hoenstly, after what they put him through, it would be fairly justified.
The Man in Black remains coompletely inscrutable through all of it. What was the eye flash all about? This show is very particular about eyes, I don’t beleive it was just a little artistic flair.

It feels like it’s been a very long time since we’ve seen Fushi in his wolf form. After the boy, it use to be his favourite form. It was nostalgic to see it again.
I sort of knew it in this scene already that Bon had decided on the noble sacrifice. There’s someting about seeing him all calm and resolved that’s just ennerving. And you know, he really had some great answers for the church. Why should helping people out be a bad thing? He was already a rather likeable characetr but they really went out of their way to make him downright loveable this week.

So let’s get into some speculation.
It would be completely in keepng with To Your Eternity’s tone and nethod of dealing with characters for Bon to get executed. And I have to admit, his arc was in fact quite satisfying. His last thought being to leave the wellbeing of his beloved kingdom to his brother, honestly thinking his brother would be a great king. That’s such a perfect way to illustrate growth for this character that I feell spoiled asking for more.
And honestly, it’s a good place for Bon’s story to end. This is one of the few fictional noble sacrifices that feels thought out and justified raher than forced for dramatics. But…
On a selfish level, I like Bon. I wanted him to have a chance at a happily ever after. What’s so wrong with that. And on a more narrative level, Bon’s gift of talking wit the dead is still such a perfect fiol to Fushi’s gift of recreating the dead (and possibly reincarating them). I don’t fell like that has been explored enough.
There’s always the possibility that if Bon dies here and Fushi can take on his form, he might also inherit his gift by the same token. And then he will see himself surrounded by those he has lost. And that’s an intriguing possibility as well. I guess I’ll just have to wait one more week. They are really making these cliffhangers suspensful!

Fushi recreats matter, as far as I know. And here’s the thing. There’s nothing to stop him from creating multiples of those bodies, is there? And if they all came alive you’d have the same person multiple times. I don’t think that’s the route the show’s taking, so yeah, ghost possession is most likely what animates those bodies. I’ve been saying that from the beginning, and I’ve had no reason to change my mind so far.
I did think Bon would be exectued, but I think I saw a bird in the sky just before they cut to the ending… Not long enough to check if it’s an owl, but…
One thing I’m wondering is the position of the Church on the Nokkers. Hypothetically: if they attack and Fushi’s defending people from them, how’s the PR department going to handle this? They seem smart enough, and the Nokkers would be part of the stories, so I’d think they have a plan. But… do they?
In any case, being executed like this is perfectly in line for the way these stories go. Problem is we’ve still got his little sister and that other faction boy around, so the greater story’s not exactly wrapped up. We’ll see.
Also still waiting to see who Piyoran re-incarnated into, or will re-incarnate into (if the Black Guy wasn’t bullshitting her, which I don’t think is his style).
I think it was Lingand. I wonder how well known the nokkers are. Does the average person know of their existence? Does the church need a stance on them?
Not quite full-on Dickens but not bad.
It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to, than I have ever known.

Still, Fushi can create living replicas of people and he doesn’t even know it. They may even be the real people with there souls reinstalled – resurrection. That makes him quite the messianic figure. If he can now see the dead, that just adds to it. Might have to take Bon’s form to do it.
I think Fushi’s ability to take on the form of the dead depends on their ghosts being near instead of going to heaven – or wherever.
I think he needs to have know them. I think Fushi s ability requires him to fully visualize something. Je could only create fruit after eating it and materials after knowing their use.
The last possibility makes the most sense to me. But I guess we’ll see.
More importantly, I hope they’ll kill off Bon’s annoying sister, and pronto. I hate her cutesy, squeaky way of talking so damn much. It’s driving me nuts! I’m this close — this close! — to swinging into the opposite camp, where I’d find her voice the most amazing thing since Celine Dion. Knowing myself, I’d then wait patiently for her to show up, shamelessly repeat her silly intonation after her, and find perverse pleasure in it.
Please. I just can’t let that happen. For the love of God, just kill her! Before Fushi connects with her!
I also am not a big fan of the sister but surprisingly I seem to like her more than you do
