This week our Dr. Stone will be over on Crow’s site. In case you’re not familiar, Crow’s World of anime is where it’s at. That was a bit embarrassing. You should follow Crow’s blog is all I’m trying to say. Let’s move on.
For my part, I will be sharing this week’s screencaps as I always do. I will say Dr. Stone is a good-looking anime but not all that adventurous when it comes to visuals and cinematic language. But the designs are great!

See what I mean? It definitely looks great but there’s just not much variety. There’s one cap in there where the light is a bit more interesting. The one where they are all on a cliff at sunset. But that’s in the OP so it doesn’t really count.
Otherwise, the real visual marker of the show is the super deformed and exaggerated faces! And they certainly are leaning into that!

François looks great, don’t they? I do wish they had gone for a bit more of an androgynous look though but I can’t complain. I think it’s my favorite character design so far!

To me, scenes where we see the main characters of a show in different costumes are a type of fanservice. Hats! So I understand why we had that photoshoot with Senku. But it was a bit useless wasn’t it? And I ended up not keeping any screencaps from it. We already see them in flashbacks so that fills my need for varied outfits.

Yay, Crow colab! Crow’s World of Anime has some really good reviews and it’s particularly good if you like reading episode by episode anime commentary. Of course, your screen shots look awesome too!
Most anime each character will have one outfit and they will NEVER wear anything else – except for the obligatory beach episode. And then, mostly bare bodies are arguably much less complicated than clothes. Different clothing increases the difficulty for the animator.
