Guys, this is the first guest post I got since opening up my blog for them. I’m so excited! I realize you may be a bit confused since I talk about Daganronpa all the time but I promise I didn’t write this one. Which will probably become obvious from the actual good grammar.

For those not familiar with the Daganronpa. Sixteen students with their ultimate talents, trapped in a school, playing a game of life and death. The only way out is to kill someone without the other students finding out that you are the killer. If you manage to do that, you may escape, and all the other students must die. But if you fail, only the murderer will be executed. That, in short, is the premise of Danganronpa.

Each student has an ultimate talent, something he or she is very good at, but which talent will be the best for surviving the killing game? Before we get started, the usual spoiler warning. If you don’t know Danganronpa 1, 2, and the Danganronpa anime and don’t want to be spoilered, better don’t read on.

The Ultimate Gamer

As a gamer, you have exactly the skills you need to win a game. The intellect, the patience, the calmness, all these skills are essential to survive a killing game. Chiaki Nanami survived until chapter 5 for a reason, and even then, she was the one who found out that she was the killer. Her decision was controversial for many Danganronpa fans. Some say that her revelation was a big mistake. Others say that her decision was the right one because it allowed others to survive and be freed from despair.

The Ultimate Imposter

Deceiving others can be very important to survive the killing game, so it would be perfect if you were the Ultimate Imposter. Imagine you can take any identity of another person despite their gender or body size.

The ultimate Imposter manages to trick all the other Danganronpa characters into believing that he is the Ultimate Affluent Progeny, despite being much fatter than the skinny Byakuya. When impersonating Byakuya Togami, the Ultimate Imposter used his talent so skilled that he remains nameless until the end.

The Ultimate Liar

One person who could have made it very far in Danganronpa 1 is Celesta Ludenberg, the Ultimate Gambler. Unfortunately, the other high school students proved that she murdered one of them, ending the game for her prematurely. The talent I want to point out is not the talent of the Ultimate Gambler but the talent of the Ultimate Liar. Having the Ultimate Liar talent, you could lie without anyone finding out.

Celesta Ludenberg, as the Ultimate Gambler, was also called the queen of lies. She used her abilities to deceive others. For example, she convinced Hifumi Yamada that Kiyotaka was abusing her, even though this was not the case. This talent would help a lot to achieve one’s goal because you could manipulate everyone around you to do what you want them to do.

The Ultimate Detective

In a killing game, you are confronted with murder, betrayal, and intrigue —situations in which an average person does not know what to do. Having the Ultimate Detective talent is helpful to find out the truth. This is not only beneficial for yourself but also for everyone else. Collecting evidence and finding out who the killer is is pretty much what you need to survive class trials and unmask the mastermind. Kyoko Kirigiri found out the whole truth in Danganronpa 1 and Danganronpa 3 anime and survived both killing games. So it’s a talent that you shouldn’t underestimate. On the other hand, having the Ultimate Detective talent threatens the murderer to expose, making the ultimate detective a target for the killers.

The True Talent of Junko Enoshima

Last but not least, the talent of Junko Enoshima. The true Ultimate Talent of Junko Enoshima, not the Ultimate Fashionista Junko Enoshima, neither the Ultimate Despair Junko Enoshima. In Danganronpa Zero and Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak High School Anime, we experience her true talent: she can foresee other people’s actions. She has analytical abilities that are almost supernatural. No matter what you do next, Junko already knows. This is how she was able to cause tragedy and start a worldwide war, and this talent is incredibly useful. If you have this talent, then you can’t actually be killed in a killing game, and not only that, you could use the weaknesses of all people to your advantage, just like Junko does. The ability to read people is super powerful and would be the perfect talent for a killing game.

The Danganronpa universe is stuffed with exciting characters, absurd stories, and charming villains. If you have ever wondered which Danganronpa personality you have, you can try out this “which Danganronpa character are you quiz.”

I hope you guys enjoyed this guest post. As soon as I saw it was a Daganronpa post I was pretty sold.

  1. I took the test, and apparently I’m Kaeda Akamatsu. I don’t know who she is. I’ve only seen the first TV anime and played none of the games, so: have I forgotten her, or has she yet to appear?

Also, question 4. had only one option (and not one I’d have chosen). Is this deliberate?

In a Dnaganronpa game I’d be dead fairly early on, but then I wouldn’t be there because I’m – at best – penultimate in anything.

Leave me a comment and make my day!
