So episode 12 of classroom of the elite ends this season and maybe even becomes the final season of the anime, which is possible because a lot of people in Japan cancelled their blu-ray.
Because of things like this, we’ll never know if we’ll get another season or not, but everything has been said and done in this season.
Indeed, it’s a pretty decent stopping point, if we didn’t have another season, I feel pretty satisfied with this ending similar to a light novel ending and it’s not so bad in the end.
I know there have been quite a few detractors who have been up in arms since that fanservice episode, I think it goes to episode 6 or 7, one of the two, and that’s when Japan started to lose interest in this series, which caused them to cancel a lot of pre-orders.
So how DVD sales will go for the series, it’s going to be hard to say, but with legal streaming and other services like that, there might be enough to prevent losses and give the possibility of another season, but time will tell.
And despite all that, I have to say that it wasn’t a perfect show, there were some noticeable problems.
For example, that fanservice episode and even the pacing after that, but I’d honestly say that the survival island arc was the best arc of Classroom of The Elite, that we’ve seen so far.
That final arc and what it brought, while it didn’t blow me away, a lot of what I predicted came true.

The only thing I didn’t really predict was that I thought he was working with her, when instead he was manipulating her like he was manipulating all the pieces in the chess set.
By chess pieces, I mean all the students, so even though it blew my mind, I love what they did with her character even more.
When you see the last bit of dialogue in the series, you still wonder, does he really care about these characters, does he have feelings for any of them, no, he doesn’t.
He’s about to win, and that’s all that matters to him. He’s been trained in this centre, whatever it is, he’s not a normal person and that’s why he’s hiding in the shadows.
It’s perfect for his character. I never thought he would become a normal high school student, so I like what they did with his character.
If we never see more of his character in the anime, I can at least say he’s still a manipulative son of a bitch for a good while.

Honestly, this is my favorite new anime of the season (at the same time this season wasn’t top notch anime wise), but excluding that, it’s my favorite new anime. I think having a main character like this gave an interesting mechanic to this show, because he was so manipulative that you never knew exactly what he was going to do.
But at the same time, in this school, there are all these different characters, all their personalities and lifestyles and I love how it all comes full circle.
I thought he set the fire to draw everyone in, but I didn’t expect him to use his Akitas illness in the exact way he did. I knew he was going to use it, but I thought it was interesting that he found a way to change the leader.
The only ways to do it are the ones that require a very good reason, but a perfect reason would be for their leader to be knocked out by disease and I love the way he screws everyone up by changing the leader and also with this guy holding the key card and everything else.
I love the way it comes full circle, even though I knew a lot of things weren’t perfect, I thought he was working with Hibiki or something, but even though I was wrong, I still love the way it comes full circle.
And yes, they gave a lot of explanations, but if they hadn’t, a lot of people would have complained that it was [ __ ] and nothing was planned. So I was glad they did because otherwise there would have been an outcry from anime fans saying “oh no, inconsistency, big hole in the script”. Basically, they’ll say it doesn’t make sense because they didn’t pay enough attention.

Anyway, Clasroom of Elite was a damn fun show and I wouldn’t hesitate to watch it again, plus I love discussing it with everyone, the production, the overall quality I thought was pretty good, and I liked all the character models and even the voice of the main character, so I wasn’t a big fan of it in the first few episodes, but I ended up liking it and I think they chose the right person for the job.
My main gripe with the show would be that it stopped halfway through with this weird fanservice episode, and right after that I felt like the pacing was weird and they weren’t doing things as well as they had in previous episodes or in the first half.

And yes! for me, uk focused way too much on the fanservice, but overall the content of this show was outstanding. I know a lot of people on the internet said it wasted its potential and didn’t live up to the first half. But overall, it was a pretty good series.
I really hope there will be a second season, but if not, at least I left the series satisfied, and maybe I’ll read the source material or light novel in eight or ten years, and see what happens…
You might like this season 2 if:
you like anime of manipulation and strategy and you shouldn’t like it if you hate fan service.
My favourite character:

Kiyotaka, I find him cool with its dark and smart side
Suggested drink:
- Every time they run out of money – take a sip
- Every time someone has a strategy – cross your fingers
- Every time anyone gets hit – gasp!
- Every time anyone gets hit on – rrrwarr
- Every time you think poor Kiyotaka – take a sip
- Every time someone thinks he is the most intelligent – take a sip
- Every time anyone gets really nervous – awww
- Every time that there is fan service – rrrwarr
- Every time our protagonists win – cheer!
In case you’re new here, I have a Pinterest (Imarch1671) with all my screencaps (there are a lot!). If you can’t find a show you are looking for in my main boards, just go to Anime Screenshots. I move the shows I have reviewed there. Of course, I’m still going to add a few images here!
That’s all, I had to say for this classroom of the elite review. See you later
Yeah I really liked this series. I thought the first season was a little bit better than the second season, but both were pretty good. I think what I liked the best about this anime is that I thought the plot was going one way and then at the end of a story arc I would find out that the main character’s plan was completely different and everyone else was just playing into his hand. I loved being surprised every time.
I’m patiently waiting for the third season 👏🏾
