This season Crow and I are collaborating on: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? III episode reviews. If you want to, it would be great if you go read our review post over on Crow’s site. As I write this, we haven’t written it yet but I’m sure it will be great!
Now this here is my Gallery post. Originally I started doing gallery posts because I was reviewing episodes over on 100-word anime and I didn’t want to completely clog up the media library with my tons of screencaps so I just dumped them all in a post over on my blog. Back then, It was literally just a picture post. And because I don’t have much to say about the visuals or production of IIWTTTPUGIAD I figured I could bring that back.

I don’t know what Crow will decide to talk about. Maybe we’ll explore these questions more in the real post. I just wanted to say that the narrative of IIWTTTPUGIAD may seem uncomfortably topical this season. Like to the point of questionable taste. But since I know that these are adapted from light novels that were written years ago in a completely different society, I have a feeling that it’s just a terribly sad coincidence.
I don’t think that IIWTTTPUGIAD can really pull off the type of themes it’s going for this season. In my opinion, the way the characters have been set up and developed, as well as the world itself. simply don’t lend themselves to the nuanced and profound conversation the themes are invoking. And to be clear, I think very few works of fiction can really pull that off well anyway. But I just like IIWTTTPUGIAD when it’s being silly and a little shallow.

This said, even though it’s being clumsy, obvious and potentially pretty naïve with its message, there’s a sort of earnestness in this season of IIWTTTPUGIAD that I admire. It might not have the means to effectively get its message across in an impactful way, but it really is trying. And I respect that.
I just wonder if it will be able to reconcile with the lighter and sillier tone of the early season. I hope so. I do love being able to relax at the end of the week with silly fanservicy fun.

The set up for next week is very good. I really want to know how Bell will manage to calm the situation down. And he’s alone too!
Like I said, this isn’t the real post. I’m just throwing some words around to break up the pictures. The real post is over on Crow’s blog and if you haven’t done so yet, you should go ahead and read it!

I very nearly laughed out loud at veiled Bell. He had that don’t-look-at-me-I’m-incognito look that always draws attention.
Somehow, I think he’ll be alright. It was a funny look
