I know I’m really not the best at keeping up with tags but for what it’s worth I do try. And to anyone who has ever nominated me, even if I haven’t answered yet, I do appreciate it a whole lot and it makes me happy! So thank you!
However, I’m currently in my yearly Countdown to Halloween so when I got tagged by the lovely In Asian Spaces for the Hallotober Tag, well clearly it was kismet. Obviously, I HAVE to answer this one right now!
Oh and if for some reason you’re not following In Asian Spaces, I dunno maybe you recently went through a phase where you had an aversion to great blog content, then you can fix that right now! Yay!

Here we go with the 13 spoooky questions!
1. What’s your favourite thing about October?
This sounds really lame and also a bit like I’m a toddler but it’s my Birthday!!! YAY. It’s also Indian summer in Quebec which is like the only 2 months out of the year where the weather is pleasant and I always take a vacation in October. Also, there’s often a really great game that’s released in September so I get to play it nonstop during said vacation! This year it’s 13 sentinels. As I write this, I’m expecting it to arrive by the end of the day!
2. Are you a big celebrator of Halloween?
I am. Although some of my celebrations are just me staying in and cooking something Halloween like and making a spooky cocktail while watching my yearly horror anime. I don’t know why I started that sentence with “although”. Sounds like an awesome celebration to me.
3. What’s your favourite horror movie?
Surprisingly, I have an answer. My actual favourite horror movie is a Tale of Two Sisters. It’s brilliant and still haunts me and I found it genuinely terrifying.
I’m not entirely sure it qualifies but Perfect Blue would be tied. To me, this was always more of a thriller than a horror movie but I think the distinctions are pretty arbitrary. I guess those are my two favourite horror movies
My favourite Horror anime series is From the New World. That show really hit me. A close second would be Shiki that managed to raise some of the most fascinating moral quandaries.

4. Would you rather a cosy night in watching horrors or a big night out in a costume?
I think I accidentally answered this at question 2. This is why you need to read ahead folks!
Although a sort of ultimate night would be to dress up in an awesome costume and have a cozy night at home watching horror anime with a friend or two. Either in person or virtually but you need to have at least one person see your costume for it to count!
5. Which has been your most favourite costume to date?
Oh wow, that is a very difficult questions.
I have several categories – Most Comfortable, Sexiest, Most Impressive, Most Authentic. It’s really difficult to chose. Ironically my favourite may be one that doesn’t fit in any of those categories. I sue to dye my hair white, a gruesome process, and I would choose to dress up as characters with white hair to get the most out of it. I went as Griffith from Berserk one year. I think I did a decent job. I chose his casual outfit with the flowy white blouse which was quite comfy and I had a rapier available. I’m very lucky to know people in the fashion and entertainment industries so I had access to some really good hair and makeup help.
But what made the costume was the fact that a friend of mine dressed up as Gatz or Guts (depending on the dub you saw) and our difference is size really made him and his sword look enormous by comparison. It was so much fun and the effect was perfect.
6. Bobbing for apples or pin the hat on the witch?
I’m not sure when this question was added but considering current world circumstances, I think bobbing for apples is probably a very bad idea.
I’m going to go with the second one as I assume it does not involve dunking my face in a bucket full of other people’s saliva.

7. How do you celebrate Halloween?
Ok, so question number 2 has now ruined 2 subsequent questions… I am bad at tags!
So I tend to celebrate Halloween by baking some Halloween treats like creepy looking cookies of some sort and creating a gruesome but tasty menu. I enjoy cooking a lot and for some reason, I also like to make food that looks like other food. It’s a very specific and very odd little hobby to have.
I usually invite my better half and/or a couple of close friends and we have a few Halloween themed cocktails, watch horror anime or movies and give out candy. Since I have the most entertainment devices I tend to host and everyone stays the night. Sometimes we will turn it into an old fashioned sleepover with sleeping bags in the living room and ghost stories at night with a flash light.
8. What’s your least favourite horror?
I’m not sure if the question means my least favourite genre of horror or my least favourite Horror movie.
I don’t know about my least favourite Horror Movie is. If I go by my AniList, my least favourite Horror anime series is King’s Game and that makes sense. I didn’t enjoy it much. I just got bored.
My least favourite horror genre is revulsion horror. I don’t mean body horror or gore, I mean the type of horror where they just keep piling on unpleasant situations and disgusting imagery with no real substance to it. Thankfully those series are fairly rare. Magical girl Site does that occasionally but it’s not the entire series. Happy Sugar Life also had a lot of that.
9. Do you have a favourite trick or treating memory?
Unfortunately, by the time I got to a country that had any sort of trick or treating traditions, I was a bit too old to take part without someone thinking of calling the police.
I have given out candy. And although I can think of dozens of adorable costumed kids and shy little ones that made me smile or laugh, I sadly never had any particular incident happen.

10. What’s your favourite thing about Halloween?
Aside from the fact that fall is simply a pleasant time of the year where I live, I find that it’s one of the happier holidays. You know there’s no pressure to buy gifts or host some huge family dinner so people don’t get stressed out or depressed at Halloween like they do for some of the other holidays.
But it’s still a special time of the year. An excuse to eat sweet things and have a few drinks and just act silly and childish. I find that even people who don’t really care about Halloween at all, tend to be a bit more cheerful at this time of year because everyone else if happy about it.
The celebration of monsters and death and fear has always been the most carefree and just simply fun one in my experience.
11. Scary costume or Silly costume?
The truly genius ones are both!
12. What’s your favourite Halloween candy?
Wow that’s a great question. It sort of changes every year.
I’m not that big on sweets so Halloween is usually the one-time f the year I’ll have candy bars and I really love the tiny ones. I remember Kit Kat and Aero being on my favourites list. Also snickers. I once created something similar to a homemade snickers bar and it was heavenly. Sort of ruined normal snickers for me after that….
13. Ghost decorations or skeleton decorations?
What’s with this segregation. Both are absolute musts. Also spiders a nice and fun to pet, and bats are super cute. You should not limit your decorative impulses. You want t give that skeleton a Santa hat – go for it.
I actually have a full-sized anatomical skeleton model at home. Not as a decoration, as a…model… I dress him up for Halloween so he has been a skeleton ghost in the past!
Aww, this was fun. There is still a little time left before the 31st, so feel free to try this tag. It will get you in the spirit of the season. I certainly can’t wait for Halloween now!

Such a fun read! 👻 ohh you gave me the idea to make some spooky cocktails. Here’s my tag post if you are interested

I’m glad you enjoyed the tag! ☺ It was a lot of fun reading your answers.
Also, your Halloween baked goods sound delicious! I really admire people who can make food look like other things.
I tried to make a spider-pretzel cupcake one year and failed miserably, haha!
It sounds super yummy though
I love Perfect Blue and was hapy to see it in the horror section ! I loved Paranoia Agent as well which I believe was done by the same director.
It was. And Paranoia Agent is so underrated. I’m so happy to see someone mention it like this!
I need to track down the series again so I can watch it this year . It gave me the chills . Lil slugger was so scary😱
So you are a scorpio?? LOL I hope you enjoy 13 sentinels. I remember watching Tale of Two Sister with my big sis. She enjoyed it.
I am not. I am absolutely loving 13 sentinels so far. It’s amazing
That’s fun. I would argue that Perfect Blue counts as a horror movie though and not because of how legitimately scary it is.
It is quite scary though. Or at least it was to me.
Perfect Blue really was scary and it didn’t rely on jump scares or slasher cliches (okay, it did get gory at times). The psychological aspect made this scary in a different way.
Homemade Snickers??????????? Tell me more
It was awesome. There’s a layer of marshmallow fluff mixed with melted peanut butter. I never imagines that would work so well
This post was a lot of fun to read, and I loved your choice for favorite horror movie! I have that one on dvd and like you enjoyed it quite a bit! Haven’t seen it in quite a while, so I figure it’s time for a rewatch! 😀
Nice post I might take on this tag here if you do not mind! Might help me to some nice context in my moving week!
You aren’t originally Canadian though? That is new to me!
Also if you want to bob for apples just go first! 😉
I am originally Russian. Please take the tag! It would make me happy
This was fun to read!!
Glad you liked it!
That sounds like a perfect way to spend Halloween to me. Hmmm, and I’d have to say it’s how I’ve spent most of mine the last few years. We haven’t really been someplace where the kids went trick or treating, so it’s been just us, hot chocolate and too much candy, and some good horror movies.
Hot chocolate! Now that’s a great idea!
Then again, I make a wicked hot toddy… or irish coffee. 😀
I don’t but I can put Irish cream in hot chocolate I bet
I could make an argument for putting irish creme in almost anything…
This was so much fun to read ☺️! I haven’t watched Tale of Two Sisters, but I’ll put it on my watch list also oh gosh King’s Game…that was certainly a horrifying watch in its own way 😛
You have a point, In a way, King’s Game did succeed in what it was trying to do!
