I know, I know, I’m really behind on my award tags. If I gave anyone the impression that I didn’t appreciate the nomination I’m so sorry. I really do! You’re awesome, I’m the bum. Let me try to rectify that just a little bit. I still have tons backlogged but baby steps people!
- Display the award logo (scary scary butterflies!)
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and post a link to their blog (my pleasure!)
- Answer the questions of the one who nominated you (OK!)
- Nominate 5-10 bloggers (on it)
- Ask them 7 questions (I’m not grea at that)
So first up, thank you so much Ryuji for being the first to call my blog neat. I regularly call things “neat-o” and my friends pretend not to know me. It’s all good, us really cool folks know exactly just how great a compliment “neat” is. First make sure you go read Ryuji’s award post because it’s oddly relaxing and comforting. Ryuji sure paints an inviting word picture. Just go – you’ll see what I mean. Also, I just feel like I have to let you guys in on this, Ryuji wrote this truly touching end of year retrospective post in which he kindly took the time to personally shout out his fellow bloggers in such a sweet way. Yeah – he mentioned me too and I am awed but even if he hadn’t, this is just such a nice gesture and I think you guys will appreciate it too.
Ryuji’s questions:
- Have you ever hated any of your teachers? If yes, then how many times have you tortured them to death? J
I very much disliked one teacher who really thought girls had no place studying advanced mathematics. This was really odd because there were a lot of girls in that class, as had been the case for many years so I’m not sure why he hadn’t gotten over it yet.
17 – the answer is 17!
- Name an anime song that makes you jump in joy or sing along with it (Even if the lyrics are mainly just gibberish)?
Honestly, please please don’t judge me….The intro to iCarly. It has to do with nostalgia and dancing around my living room every time it came on but to this day, as soon as I hear that opening riff I instantly drop what I’m doing and jump around. It’s on my playlist and I have done the jumping thing in buses. It clashes quite a bit with the rest of that playlist.
- What is your ideal travel destination?
Prague, it’s always Prague. Prague is just beauty in city form. Those bridges that architecture. Because the town has been through so many wars, you actually have a collection of different era structures all crowded together. It’s like walking through an Architectural History Exhibit in real life. Food’s decent too.
- Have you ever hurt an animal back when you were a kid? (…….. Please tell me it wasn’t just me Q.Q)
It’s just you. I refused to swat mosquitoes… This explains the malaria.
- 2017 is almost at its end, which anime has been your favorite this year?
- Are you into K-pop/K-drama? Who is your favorite Idol/Actor among them?

I’m actually way hardcore into K-cinema but it would be difficult to name a favourite actor. Some of my favourite movies are:
- Attack the Gas Station
- The Exclusive: Beat the Devil’s Tattoo
- A Hard Day
- Castaway on the Moon (yes a romance!)
- Ciy of Violence
I’m forgetting about 173, Koreans make great movies, guys.
- It’s a zombie apocalypse. You are driven to a corner, the object to your left and right are your only weapon. How screwed are you? (Clichéd question, I know)
Ha! I answered this once (Last time it was booze…) This time – Pop figure of Doc Brown and a lead mechanical pencil. I think we all know I am going to be ruling the new world!

Thanks Ryuji! These were so much fun to answer.
And then, for completely baffling reasons, A nerdy Perspective actually seconded that nomination. I love how gorgeous the posts always are on A Nerdy Perspective. I mean, take for instance this nomination post not only is it a super fun and entertaining read but those are some fantastic pic choices right there! Even if you don’t read English you can clearly enjoy this site, but you’ll be missing out on a lot!
Nerdy’s questions:
- If you could go for afternoon tea with a villain of you choice to discuss their evil plans who would you choose and why?
I have a pretty well established track record of being nitpicky on the definition of villain. For instance, I’ve never considered Hisoka to fall into that category, nor my well-intentioned if somewhat delusional Danganronpa 2 husbando, or else they would both have been clear contenders.
On the other hand, actual unambiguous villains don’t seem like they would make for the best tea companions except possibly for Makishima. The Psycho Pass terrorist is a clear villain, even if his goals could possibly be debated, his methods are entirely indefensible, completely rendering any higher meaning moot. This said, he does seem stable enough to have an entire conversation with, affable enough to even be pleasant and let’s face it, he’s ok to look at. I would really like to know what the long-term plan is. What he intended to replace the current social structure with. People always think of the revolution but rarely consider how to rebuild. Then again, I might just come out of it completely convinced of his message so this may not be the best idea.

- Are there any characters that you hate? You just wish they would go away because they annoy you so much!
Wow, I actually don’t think so. There are certainly characters I like less but never to the point of hate. (Shows are another story). Maybe Navi – from Zelda. I wanted to swat that thing a few times…
- What is your favourite thing about Christmas? Or if you celebrate another holiday what is it and what’s your favourite thing about it?
Giving gifts. I have a gift giving problem. I’m way into it, much more than receiving. I tend to overdo it in fact. I don’t wait until Christmas mind you, I’m a general opportunity giftist!
- Do you have a favourite video game? It can be from recently or maybe something you played when you were younger!
I have a lot. I LOVE Vesperia – made no secret of it. I played probably years worth of WOW. I adore the Fallout franchise but had a bit more trouble getting into 4. I loved Mass Effect but have yet to finish Andromeda. FF7 is one of my all time favorites and the first game I remember playing in detail (crisis core is my second favorite FF). FF15 was really great too, a pleasant return to form. There are many visual novels I adore. Okami was brilliant and I still enjoy the odd Dungeon Keeper game. P4 and 5 … I’ll stop. I like games.

- What is one of your fondest memories?
I’m the annoying cherish every moment sort. Nothing stands out but most of it was great.
- Do you have any New Years Resolutions?
Keep doing everything I was – only a little better.
- Can you speak any other languages other than your own? If so what are they?
I can – It’s a long story: I speak: French, German, Russian, Bulgarian, English, Malgasy and Darja. I can get by in a few other languages but it’s painful for all involved.
Thank you so much Nerdy, I gotta say, doing this post reminded me how much fun these tags are! I know some people get swamped by them and it can become a bit of a chore so I’ll try not to nominate any of you that are over such things but I hope some of you will have as much fun writing one as I did!
Fine Shoka, you don’t have to do it… Only because there are much more to come
As for questions:
- What’s the best thing you got for the holidays?
- Is there a funny typo you make every time?
- What piece of anime merch do you wish you had (if it existed)
- What crossover would you like to see
- What is the last thing you picked up off the floor (that you didn’t drop)
- Is there an anime you love that never quite makes it into your list of favourites?
- What was your most recent anime let down?
I need to channel Crimson to up my question game. Or Auri…These ladies now how to come up with awesome questions. Well I look forward to reading all your posts!
Congrats on getting another award. You certainly have a neat blog.
Why thank you very much
No problem. It’s awesome how much definition you’ve been getting.
I think so too. Everyone is fantastic
Sure thing. I feel like the aniblogging community is strong over here. I do wish I can say the same about people into world cinema and indie films because I feel like that’s nonexistent on this platform. At least I can talk about anime with others so far.
OMG SPEAK TO ME IN DIF LANGUAGES. I wish I could speak so many languages but I only know English and Spanish and if I get lost in Japan I can ask how to get where I need to but thats about it xD
And the gift giving LOL I used to do that all the time and I’m still prone to even when I’m broke. I guess I don’t do it as much anymore bc I don’t have friends to gift things to anymore x’D
Oh and the hurting animals question, when my brother was younger he bit our dog and when we asked why he said that it was bc she bit him first 😂😂😂
Great post! And lolol I always feel like my questions arent good enough so then I try to be random, guess that’s working out for me 😛
Are you kidding – I have major question envy for you
YES Makishima appreciation post!! And play Vesperia—noted. Gratz on all the neat awards Irina!
Thank you so much. I’ve already published a Kagari appreciation post – I’m slowly making my way through all the PP characters.
Congratulations!!! Great post!
Thank you! I had fun
That’s goof
Thank you so much for the nomination! I’ll answer your questions really soon!
Take your time! it took me forever.
Thanks for the nomination. I’ll get to working on that award post as quickly as I can…
By the way, that question about the song mentions it should be an /anime/ song, but your answer evokes so much nostalgia, I don’t think anyone cared (me included).
I realized afterwards that I started thinking about aime I loved when I was younger ad somehow drifted into iCarly and lost track.
You know Navi is hated when even people who don’t hurt mosquitoes want to swat her!
when you put it that way…
I love ICarly, absolutely Dan Schneiders peak together with Drake & Josh (he did D&J right?). These questions are great so I’ll definitely answer them, thanks for the nomination!
Congratulations on the award, @Irina. ^ ^
Thank you so much Bento… I want to have a friend called Bento
You make me blush. (\\\> w<\\)<
Congrats on the award and thank you for the nomination. I’m jealous about all of the languages that you know. How hard was it to learn all of them?
I learned them as a kid so it was pretty easy
Thanks for the nomination! 😀 I’ll get to this..i hope..soon…later….sooner than later….LOL <3 thanks Irina! 😀
Always a pleasure!!!
I forgot how catchy iCarly’s intro was. This might just send me down a rabbit hole where I engorge myself with 2000’s Nickelodeon shows lol.
RIGHT!!!?? ALso sorry about that – it stays in your head forever…
It’s all good, I’m happy to have been reminded of it. Now about this rabbit hole, I think I’ll begin with some Drake and Josh…
that song is catchy too….
Ahh…I want to have tea with Makishima too! You take a madeleine… and the you dip it 📑
And CONGRATS!!! Your blog is definitely one of the neatest around (sorry, got too caught up in the Makishima to congratulate you
I reasonable reaction…. Thank you!
Ughh..I can relate: It’s pretty much embarassing how much I am running behind on awards and tags. I am trying to take babysteps in those as well this year. But: cobgratulations, and well duh, of course your blog us neat 😀😀
By the way; seriously cool to see your love for Korean cinema. I have a huuuugee amount of Korean dvds and there are so many good ones: City of Violence being one of them 😀
Train to Busan is one that I highly recommend as well, and you might also really enjoy Shiri 😀
Anyways as always this was another fun read😀😀
I wasn’t crazy about Shiri although I love Yunjin Kim but I cant beleive I forgot Train to Busan – that rocked! Guys go see Train to Busan!
Lol, definitely a great movie to watch. Two other recommendations: The Host and The Wailing…oh and if all goes well this weekend there is a review coming from me about a seriously awesome Korean drama that I am highly enjoying at the moment 😀😀
The Host is one of my all time favorite movies – I thought the US one was a remake. The camera lens filter used to mute all the colours through particle means was one of the best mood devices I have seen in a long time. I have NOT seen the wailing but I will happily.
The Host is really good. The same director has also made another seriously good film called Memories of Murder. Totally different film, but also really good.
As for The Wailing…..be prepared to get scared….seriously scared 😀
Oh I remember Memories of Murder but not too clearly – I should rewatch it
It is a pretty brutal/sad film, but also very good. 😀
I also really loved Antique. Not Korean but have you seen Love Exposure? I can’ty seem to forget that movie…
I had to look up both films as I had not heard of them, but Love Exposure especially looks seriously good. Love the premise for that one 😀
Also not Korean, but films you might also enjoy is the Rurouni Kenshin trilogy (yes…that is based on the anime series 😀).
Yes I saw your reviews!!! The actor is ok looking… I have a special relationship with the Kenshin story so I’m always really hesitatnt to see anything new because I’m afraid it might mess with my headcanon… Not sure if that makes sense.
It does make sense: I had that same doubt when I heard about the Erased live action series, because that one also held a pretty special place in my heart. But it turned out allright.
The Rurouni Kenshin movie trilogy is definitely one of the best Asian film trilogies that I have ever seen. It’s seriously high quality, with terrific visuals, very decent acting, and a terrific score. But I can also understand yiur hesitation as well. Having never seen the anime, nor read the manga, I can’t say if it as good as those, or if it sticks to the source material. All I can say is that I really enjoyed it 😀
Se-Senpai praised… Me?! >//w//<
I'm so happy! Thanks for those lovely words and also for answering my question.
I never thought there are still teachers like that… No wonder you hated him.
Guess I'm the only one to hurt an animal in the past….
It was a really fun post and once again, thank you for your kind words!
They were all well earned
that was such a blast from the past when I heard the iCarly theme song after a while. I looooooved watching that show 😛
and I’m blown away at the fact that you can speak that many languages!! 😀
Or you could say I speak none since I usually use a mishmash of all of them….
Award posts are fun to read!
My questions are too random for life XD
Your questions MAKE the award posts fun. Are you kidding – I still have flashbacks to my awesome bus adventures thanks to you.
You’re making me tempted to do a train one now Rin-san. ^^
p.s: i’m a diehard fan of k-cinema. (cue jumping around screaming “yassss!!!!!”)
p.p.s: do you watch k-drama too? (sry, I fangirl too much!)
I do but less – mostly because between anime and games and blogging time is somewhat limited – also people at the office want me to work apparently?
oh…. what all kdrama have u seen ?
Let’s see the latest I watched was Cinderella – Cheese in the Trap – Scarlet Heart and remember – there are a lot of blogs dedicated to kdramas so just go with what they recommend really
i watched scarlet heart too, its a really good drama. i also go through a lot of blogs about kdrama too; then my friends recommend some also.
hey!!! first of all i loved the blog’s theme. it’s really neat and well ordered.
Really? Thank you so much. You probably don’t know this but I keep threatening to change my layout every few weeks. I’m very unsure of it…
I was relieved for a second, only to see a very specific message left for me under the nominations.
You should start writing a horror story script. I did get the shivers from this.
The anticipation is always worse than the shock…or is it????
It is when you crush that little hope I had…
Currently sitting on close to 50 nominations… My new eveil plan is to get more people in on it – I see that you get nominated very regularly so I’m at peace
Me too actually!
I sort of read it in that whisper voice, if that makes any sense?
You guys are party poopers…You both make such hilarious and fun tag posts – the peeps want more!
Aww thank you that’s so sweet of you to call my posts gorgeous 😭😄 I’m glad I could help bring a bit more fun into posting these tags for you again! I loved reading all your answers! 😄
Actually it’s factual not sweet. I’ve been reading your blog for a while now and your posts always look great.
That fact honestly made my day! Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoy my posts and how they look! I always enjoy your posts and reading your content! 😄
