At some point, excitement hits a point of diminishing returns. Any good narrative needs to know when to take a little break and give the audience a chance to breathe. Or else, little by little, consequences start to loose their impact and you risk making viewers Jared and too exhausted to care.

MEGALOBOX Ep 11 – Second Wind
Genre : Cyberpunk, Sports!, action, cool Studio: TMS Entertainment Last episode ended on possibly the best cliffhanger we’ve seen from Megalo box (I’ve been hanging off cliffs all season…) and I was genuinely curious to see what Joe would do. He’s still essentially a brick, by that I mean a narrative foundation with no significant…
Steins;Gate 0 Ep 10 – Space Time Oddity
I think I may finally have gotten that filler episode I’ve been clamoring for. Steins;Gate 0 took a deep breath this week and just sort of chilled. We didn’t get any major revelations or action sequences, instead the show took a little time to indulge in some silliness, some light-hearted humour and some dubious fan…
Red Data Girl – I got nothing
Genre: Supernatural, drama, adventure romance? Episodes: 12 Studio: P.A.Works Izumiko Suzuharais just a normal teenage girl…Or is she?? Well actually, yeah, she is. She’s at that age trying to figure out who she is, shy and insecure, going to a school far from home for the first time. She’s really a girl just like…
MEGALOBOX Ep 10 – Once a Scoundrel
Genre : Cyberpunk, Sports!, action, cool Studio: TMS Entertainment The last few episodes of Megalobox really renewed my interest in the series. I was truly looking forward to this week and the resolution of that cliffhanger ending with the mob guy that looks like he could be a decent boxer too. I wasn’t too sure…
Steins;Gate 0 Ep 9 – The Comfort of a Familiar Ache
At this point in my life, I’ve made my peace with the fact that I’m John Snow… I know nothing. I’ve read a few reviews for Steins;Gate 0 that accuse it of being very poorly written drivel relying entirely on nostalgia. That may be true, after all, what do I know? All I can say…
MEGALOBOX Ep 9 – American Dreams
Genre : Cyberpunk, Sports!, action, cool Studio: TMS Entertainment Now that’s more like it. I’m not sure whether I should credit Mikio for Megalo Box’ recent return to form or the fact that these match centric episodes mostly cut out the kid, but this was another thoroughly enjoyable episode. I’m looking forward to seeing how…
Steins;Gate 0 Ep 8 – Okabe And The Real Girl
I decided to just stop assuming things in Steins;Gate. What’s the point? I mean sure, episode 7’s ending brought up so many questions, memories, feelings! This time surely, they’ve overplayed their hand. If it gets resolved in the first scene as it usually does, that’s going to be just as cheap and hollow as the…
MEGALOBOX Ep 8 – Stranger Bedfellows
Genre : Cyberpunk, Sports!, action, cool Studio: TMS Entertainment Another week, another good episode of Megalobox. I’m not going to lie, I was getting rather disenchanted by this series for a while there but these last few weeks have revived my enthusiasm for this show. I still think it’s occasionally overhyped and has a tendency…
Steins;Gate 0 Ep 7 – Strange Bedfellows
Great news you guys, I didn’t suffocate from holding my breath for a week…well I thought it was great news…
MEGALOBOX Ep 7 – Sibling Rivalry
Genre : Cyberpunk, Sports!, action, cool Studio: TMS Entertainment Well this is unexpected. I’m not quite sure where to begin. I haven’t ever really found myself in this type of position before. To be frank, I never thought I would ever have to write anything like this. Since the beginning of this show I’ve been…
Steins;Gate 0 Ep 6 – The Best of Times and The Worst of Time
I have never been a big fan of New Year’s episodes. They all tend to be the same. With very few exceptions they are usually not very funny (Gabriel DropOut was hilarious) and surprisingly not all that touching (Gugure-San ended on a truly heartwarming holiday ep). They’re generally just an excuse to draw characters in…
MEGALOBOX Ep 6 – Tomorrow Starts Today
Genre : Cyberpunk, Sports!, action, cool Studio: TMS Entertainment Watching the hype and fandom that is forming around this show is a form of entertainment all of it’s own. It’s very different form the big sports anime titles we’ve had in the past few seasons. Maybe one day I will try to put together a…
Steins;Gate 0 Ep 5 – The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same
I don’t use Twitter very much. It’s probably because I’m in the wrong timezone, It seems most people are active either when I’m sleeping or at work and by the time I get around to check, the interesting stuff is buried in a sea of adds and irrelevant retweets from people I don’t know. In…
“If both sides are the same, become a good man”
I really liked Bungou Stray Dogs. I still do. I’m here for anything new that comes out. But as much as I enjoyed the first season, it’s the second that really made the series take root in my mind. More specifically, the first few episodes of the second season, which told the tale of a…
