I think I mentioned once or twice that I really like cooking. In fact, my blog was originally going to be an anime recipe blog. Turns out that’s a lot of work and I’m kind of lazy. So it didn’t become that. Instead, I ponce of every food/cooking based series I find. However, there’s only so much Food Wars you can watch. So I’m glad I got to discover Gourmet Hound.
So welcome to my new feature! Every week, I plan to tell you guys about a webcomic I am enjoying so that maybe some of you will discover a story you like. For now, I plan to concentrate on webcomics that are posted by the author and as such completely legal to read for free over the internet.n I may eventually venture into scanslations or pay to read comics if I think something is really worth it but I wanted to give you guys some options that are easy to find and accessible to all. Since a lot of us are still spending a lot of time indoors, it’s a good time to expand our libraries a little with some new reading material.

As you can imagine, Gourmet Hound is not a webtoon to read on an empty stomach. There’s a lot of cooking and a lot of food and it will just make you want to eat. Or is that just me? Most things make me want to eat.
The actual story stars Lucy, a young woman who also likes to eat. And she happens to have an exceptional sense of smell and taste. So when she finds a dish she likes, she really likes it! And Lucy has a favourite restaurant full of dishes she likes. Except for one day, they just don’t taste the same anymore. And that’s because they have a new chef. So Lucy decides to embark on an epic journey of taste to find this genius chef and rediscover all her favourite dishes.

If that description sounds cute, it’s because it’s a very cute comic. And it’s completed – which means you can read the entire thing right now. I don’t mind ongoing series myself but I know how frustrating it can be when a story you’re enjoying goes on hiatus. So there’s a bit of security in reading completed webtoons.
Also, and this is very cool, some chapters include sound! We don’t see sound design in webtoons very often. I wish they had mastered digital taste. I bet it would have been awesome if it included flavours and smells as well. Although there are a lot of onions…

I love anything to do with food, so I’m definitely adding this to my reading list haha. It looks very cute, indeed.
It’s quite adorable. I hope you enjoy it!
