And I’ve been extremely lucky to get some recognition from my fellow bloggers and I won’t lie, it feels great!
First the lovely Josmarie from It’s An Anime Thing (remember guys, she changed her domain not that long ago – make sure to update those bookmarks if you haven’t yet!) recognized me as a new year’s present.
Soon after, my fellow Canadian (we all feel obligated to point out whenever someone else is from this enormous country) from the Mayotarium graced me yet again!
Then I was flattered and surprised to be further recognized by my OWLS comrade Miandro a few weeks ago.
Because he always keeps the good times rolling, Arthifis sweetly thought of me in his post last week.
And finally Pete over at MoeGamer was kind enough to give me a shout out as well.
I really have to sTOP scheduling posts so far in advance – this is the 3rd time I’m editing this to add yet another sweetheart that thought of me.
aNd sweetheart truly is the right word here, if you know Brittney then you know exactly what I mean!
This is a fantastic tag which allows you to share your blog’s history and give some advice to others. These guys have some spectacular stories and I recommend you go read their posts and really all the recognition tags. They are well worth your time.

Legislature:
- Say thanks to who nominated you and leave a link back to that persons blog.
Thank you Josmarie, Miandro, Arthifis and Pete!!! I really appreciate the chance to write this fun post.
- Give the story or history of your blog.
I never get tired of writing about my blog’s super boring origin story. I wonder if you guys get tired of reading about it?
- give two or more pieces of advice for new bloggers.
Um…this is going to hurt me more than it hurts you…
- Nominate 10 other bloggers.
I will try!
- Comment on the nominated blogs and let them know they’ve been nominated and leave a link to the post.
I will not – But I will link to a page on their blogs so they get a pingback hopefully. Those have been rather sporadic for me and I know for a fact I’ve missed a bunch. When will the WordPress Powers forgive me!!??!!

A look at my blog’s history
I’ve talked about it a lot, it’s really not a secret. I started the blog late summer 2017 for all the usual reasons and also because I’m differently sane.
I wanted an outlet to talk about anime and possibly visual novels because they are both an important and dear part of my life. I do have friends, very few who share this hobby mind you, but despite my slanderous lies, most would be happy to patiently listen to me babble on about idol boys and talking cats. I’m the one who isn’t that interested in imposing my hobbies on them. Also, I’m a bit of an introvert (a gigantic one) and I enjoy the blog format which allows for anime socialization without having to actually be in the same room all the time.

Finally, I have the very bad habit of getting into behavioral loops. Repeating patterns that I can’t seem to break easily. A blog is a great bit of behavioral therapy for me. It’s an activity that I can do regularly without it having any huge drawbacks. The only real cost is time. Unlike exercise (where I’ve often injured myself) courses or hobbies, that have some monetary costs associated, blogging can’t really get out of hand. With a little effort I may even get better at writing which I consider a huge asset.
And so, thinking this would be a fun lark, I made a blog. I was not at all prepared for the humbling welcome and nurturing community I discovered. Or for the simple enjoyment of putting my thoughts down on paper (well screen…you know what I mean). Had I known all of this, I would have started a blog years ago. It’s been a fantastic experience and I recommend it to anyone and everyone.
An advice for new bloggers
I know this tag has gone around. I’ve seen bloggers I would consider role models answer it and most of the best advice has already been given out. This is why you should read these tags when you come across them!
I probably still qualify as fairly new blogger myself but one thing I found for my personal enjoyment is: remember it ain’t nothing but a number. So many people seem obsessed by their numbers to the point where they are willing to throw out their content because they don’t think it’s performing well enough. I certainly understand the drive to achieve something but honestly, stressing out about your stats is the best way to destroy your own enjoyment of your blog, make you dread writing posts and even make you abandon your blog all together. You are much better off looking forward to posting for your 3 followers than apprehending posting for you 1000 followers.

I’m not sure if this has been said already, plaid or checkered pants are surprisingly slimming and usually flattering on most body types. Unlike pinstripes, they do not emphasize curves because you can’t easily spot when any single line isn’t straight, but they still give that lengthening illusion. You should rock that school uniform chic with a pair.
Oh and one last one, if you want to reach out to someone on WordPress but aren’t sure if you should, do so. Everyone here is so kind and inviting. It’s a little suspicious.
Ok that’s all I have. I hope you’re not too disappointed. I’ll make it up to you with my nominees. If I could I would tag everybody. I’m not just saying that, I love blog origin stories and I want to read them all! I’ll try to limit myself to those of you that have not been tagged dozens of times already though but feel free to play along anyways!
- The lovely Shaddowcat99 whose posts are like hugs
- Nicole for the Bookworm Drinketh who clearly knows how to enjoy the good things
- Eve, who’s blog I’ve recently discovered and I want to know more about
- The AnimePrince because Dararara!!!
- Aldael who deserves more recognition
- Ahoge Girl before she gets completely inundated with awards
- The very secretive rossiroad who may not do tag posts…
- Murasaki Mugen whose brand new blog is full of promise
- A nerdy Perspective – I can’t believe you haven’t been tagged yet
- My competitor AstralGemini – keep your enemies close….
And of course Shokamoka. As a small concession, I am NOT linking to his wall for once. In fact, from now on I will choose an array from the posts I have enjoyed on his blog.
I need to come up with a signature sign off… I’ll tsun you all later? I would give an arm and a leg to be able to perform alchemy? Let’s make like Titans and go eat some Raw-men? Ok One last Piece of advice: don’t try to come up with anime puns as a sign off. It never goes well…

Like hugs? Awwww…. *heart melts*
Imagine how we feel!
Congratulations on the award, @Irina. You deserved it. ^o^)/
Thank you bento!!!
Congrats on the award! You deserved it! 😊
Thank you so much Keiko
Congrats on the award and thank you so much for tagging me! 😀
It was my pleasure!
Congratulations on the well deserved award.
Thank you Karandi. I managed to not nominate you which makes me special I think. I wanted to…
Thanks for the thought. Currently trying to write a response to another award for the weekend. I do appreciate them and at the moment, because I dropped some shows off my list I’ve got some space in my schedule I can respond to them, but they certainly take a bit of time.
Thank you for tagging me! I did not expect a nominee because I just started with blogging :O This gives me a lot of motivation to entertain my readers! I don’t have anything to say but thank you for your enjoyable post and thank you for tagging me 🙂
I am really looking forward to your response! I know you mention a bit about why you started your blog on your about page but I want to see all the details!
Congratulations, you deserve being recognized.
As for the reasons you create the blog, I think many people feel the same way, at least I do. Being able to express your feelings and thoughts about what you love, without worrying about being annoying to the others is something I really enjoy about the internet 🙂
Keep up the good work here
Thank you so much. I have loved the experience so far!
Thanks for a shout out!
You got me confused and then amazed about the pants – I never thought about that. Now I’m pondering why human brains work that way.
It’s one of the best guarded secrets!
I am going to run off to the store now to buy a few dozen checkered pants. I never knew that before reading this, so really that was a terrific piece advice 😂😂
Seriously Irina what can I say that I haven’t said already? Congratulations is of course the polite thing. But also that you are an inspiration! Your blog, and the way it has grown, the terrific posts that you give us each day and are so welcoming to everyone is nothing short of astounding. You are truly one of the most amazing bloggers that I have run across, and I am very grateful to have met you. I hope your blog will continue for many, many more years to come 🎉🎉😊😊
Wll as long as I have this type of encouragement how could I possibly stop!
Congrats on getting those awards. That’s also great advice about not worrying about the numbers. I do confess to have focused on my views from time to time since I’m a small blogger with all of my pages, but I have to learn not to be obsessed about my traffic.
It’s natural but I know it makes *me* feel awful when I do. Grass is always greener and all that
I feel the same way. I wish I could stop comparing myself to others with everything, but it’s a learning process for me. Everyone has their own way of doing things and their own measures of what counts as successful to them.
Exactly!
Yeah. I’ll do my best to end that flaw in my personality, but I’m glad you can relate.
Congrats in you awards! They are all deserved! For some reason I though you were blogging for a lot more time than only last summer oO Probably because at my eyes you are a well established blogger with a lot of great advice to the new ones! 🙂
I completely agree with the statitics and followers count. I do have some goals to my blog, but I try my best to not live only towards that, the main objective is to talk about Anime and Video Games, if people like it better, if not, oh well… At least I’m having fun xD
Well I just hit my 6 month mark a few weeks ago so I think I graduated from fledgling to “young” but I have a lot to learn still. It’s a little ironic for me to be giving advice as if I know what I’m talking about though.
Well you do xD even though you think you don’t know, the reality is that your advice normally are top notch xD
Plaid pants right? Most people don’t realize…
What does plaid pants mean? XD Google seems not to be able to answer xp
Congrats! You should totally have stopped being surprised at this point. XD You’re wonderfully inspirational and I love reading your posts ☺
Oh my… See now I’m going to have to work to live up to that! Thank you so much!
Happy to give you some love, you’ve been super nice and supportive since I started spreading my “socialising” wings a bit with my site — I’m a bit (lot) of an introvert too, even online — and your posts always make me smile. And now I have a whole bunch of new blogs in my Reader to look forward to. YAY!
Oh I do hope you like them and I for one am very happy you decided to start “socializing”. It’s been a gift to us all.
<3
You're too kind. But I'm very happy to be a part of… whatever this is 🙂
Haha my God. You and your humor is off the charts!
Epic puns right!?
You might as well sink my comedy career with them…
I would never dare
