Guys! It’s that magical time of year. That wonderful snowy time where I blog about anime or loosely related subjects for 12 days in a row! Ok, so I do that anyway but now, it’s christmasy!

Kidding aside, I do enjoy taking part in the 12 Days of Anime Blogmas every year even if it doesn’t seem like a big change from the outside. In fact I enjoy it so much that last year I tried to keep the experience going by choosing my post topics ahead of time for another month or so. It wasn’t that same. It seems that that’s not what makes Blogmas special.

it really is more fun with friends

I’m about to go into some seriously cringy territory, be warned! I’ve come to realize that just like the holiday we are celebrating, Blogmas isn’t all about the rituals, ornaments or treats you can get out of it. Those are nice to be sure but the true spirit of Blogmas is in the people… Hey, I warned you!

For those of you less familiar with the event, Blogmas doesn’t actually require the participants to do anything beyond post (or attempt to post) what they set out for themselves. Perpetual Morning (who has been organizing the event a far as I can tell) doesn’t seem interested in using it for self promotion.

If you want to take part as well, and I do encourage you, please visit Perpetual Morning’s post right HEREplease visit Perpetual Morning’s post right HERE for all the details. The more the merrier!

It’s just a whole bunch of fun loving anime bloggers all posting for 12 days about a subject they love. That’s all. And it energizes me every year to keep on posting until the next one. It’s one of those experiences you can’t really explain. Taking part in something that’s both small and not threatening but still bigger than myself and only possible because I took a blogging journey.

If you are one of the bloggers participating this year, awesome, I can’t wait to read what you have to say. If you are thinking about it, I hope you take the leap next year. It’s going to be fun, trust me!

As for this year, I hope you join me for my 12 days of Anime Blogmas starting on December 14 with a… Dr Stone review. OK so it’s a slow start but it will get better, I promise!

Merry Blogmas one and all!!!

  1. Good luck to everyone participating this year! I’m still on the fence about it. Hopefully I can get it together before a certain date to take part in the festivities (=

  2. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Thinking about joining myself. I’ve done it before, and it was fun and a bit of a challenge for me.

  3. I was planning to do this for the traditional 12 days of Christmas running through to Jan. 5, but I already have most of it written and I’m stalling out on my current project so I might just join you all instead.

  4. I had hoped to be participating this year, but as you may or may not have read on my update, it unfortunately won’t be happening this year (again😢😢). That said: it warms my heart (and now I hope I’m not getting too cringy lol😅😅) to see you and other bloggers get so excited about it. I hope to check in and see some of the posts that will be coming out for this: I will do my best. In the meantime: have fun with the event, and of course: Merry (early) Christmas!:) 😊😊

    1. I did read your update and it’s great for you to take a little for yourself. I hope 2020 is way better
