As I write this It’s festival time again in Montreal. For me, that means my yearly pilgrimage to Fantasia for films and friends. The festival may have traded the intoxicating (and likely intoxicated) crowds and atmosphere for a more professional event where movies don’t start n hour late… I’m not sure which I like best……

The Country Without Humans – Manga First Impression
You know, I’m a fan of Iwatobineko‘s imagery. Not necessarily the art style in itself, although it’s quite nice as well, no complaints, but the composition. The elements that are brought together and how they fit into the image. Granted, I have only seen two covers by Iwatobineko but I really liked both of them!

20th Century Boys – Manga Review
This is actually a review of both 20th Century Boys and 21st Century Boys but it made the title too long. Besides, as you will find out later, I’m not sure you can really consider there two separate series. Now some of you may have heard me say in the past that I tried to…
No. 5 – Manga First Impression
I really like science fiction and I don’t think I own any manga that qualifies as that. I guess Dark Dai is a comedy, horror, science fiction but that’s as close as it gets for me. I was hoping that No.5 would open up a whole new genre to explore. I guess I could always…
Gigant – Manga First Impression
I’m really starting to rack up these manga first impressions. They are much easier to put together since reading a volume of the manga is way quicker than watching an entire season of anime. I might start doubling up on them on Mondays. They almost feel like episode reviews and I love reading new manga….
Dai Dark – Manga First Impression
I really like Q Hayashida. Admittedly I’ve only really seen/read two of her works but I clicked with both of them. I guess this is sort of a spoiler about what my first impression of Dai Dark was. I’m sorry, I’m probably going to make a whole bunch of comparisons to Dorohedoro. I can’t help…
