Ok, so keeping up with my tag posts hasn’t exactly been going as fast as I’d like but I haven’t given up. Especially with such great tags as Make it Anime. I’ve seen this one going around and it’s always an interesting read, if a little frustrating since I really want to see all those non existent animes now.
Case and point: Average Joe’s post on the subject which really has a ton of fascinating suggestions I would never have thought of myself. You should go give it a read now:
Especially if you happen to own an animation studio. These are all great suggestions! I personally want to live in a world that’s almost entirely made out of anime myself so I am relishing the idea of doing my own post on this tag. But first there are some rules. And here they are:

- Choose 1 Book, Movie and TV show of your choice that you think could work as an anime. (A series of books or movies is allowed e.g. Lord of the Rings, Hunger Games)

- Explain why you think your choices could work as an anime. Maybe the advent of animation would enhance it, maybe the different anime genres could help expand and improve the story. Just go crazy with it.

Movie
The 5th Element
I mean it’s basically already anime. Like honestly, there’s little to no adaptation needed here. Even the character designs can stay as is. The way I see it, aside from anime, the other thing you can never have enough of is the 5th element!
In fact, if you want to put in a bit of extra work, how about we expand this to a full series. 12 5th element episode that go into a bit more world building, lore, background and details on each of the movie’s acts. I can’t be the only one who wants to see this!
Book
The Master and Margarita
I love this book so much. It’s nice black humor with some romance and a lot of surreal elements that would look spectacular in animated form. Personally, I see the team that did ACCA-13 as the perfect choice for this type of project. This is an older book that unfortunately is gradually being forgotten. I would love for a new generation to discover this wry little story, full of history and dry wit. I also encourage you fully to read the book if you haven’t and imagine it as anime. You’ll see, I’m so right about this one!
TV show, pretty much 99% of what I watch is anime so I’m going to switch this one out to:
Visual Novel
Lamento
I once wrote an entire post on Visual Novels I’d like to see adapted to anime,
But the one I always go back to is Lamento. You can easily strip out the entire romantic storylines and be left with a very solid epic high fantasy complete with stunning visuals and catboys. I mean c’mon. The fact that this hasn’t happened yet is a travesty. Someone make this. Please!
Maid Cafes
I have once been to a maid café. The experience was fairly disappointing and sort of cringe worthy to me. Also the food sucked. Obviously I wasn’t the target audience because there were quite a few other customers that seem to be having a wonderful time but I couldn’t help but find it lacking. I think it would be better if Maid Cafes were also magical isekai that would transport directly into an anime universe. The waitresses would all be spunky and full of purpose. The food would be huge, probably omurice, and I would feel comfortable and at home because of the familiarity. And if there are any shy and meek waitresses, they would blush adorably on cue. This is making me sound like a jerk… Oh there would be cats as well.
Yokai
I think there should be Yokai and they should talk to me. I also think that if I want to share my life with a non-human, I would like it guaranteed that it would outlive me. These seem like reasonable demands.
Metabolisms
Now I would never presume to impose anything on YOUR body but I would very much like for my metabolism to be anime like. I want to be able to eat and drink unreasonably on a regular basis and remain almost uncomfortably thin with unprobable assets and completely jiggle free form. This would be ok for me.
So what do you think? Should we make those things anime? I say yay
