I’m sort of surprised by how many romantic webtoons I read. So Boyfriend of the Dead is actually more of a comedy but still. I guess I like my romance in webtoon form…
So welcome to my new feature! Every week, I plan to tell you guys about a webcomic I am enjoying so that maybe some of you will discover a story you like. For now, I plan to concentrate on webcomics that are posted by the author and as such completely legal to read for free over the internet.n I may eventually venture into scanslations or pay to read comics if I think something is really worth it but I wanted to give you guys some options that are easy to find and accessible to all. Since a lot of us are still spending a lot of time indoors, it’s a good time to expand our libraries a little with some new reading material.
Remember when Zombie Apocalypse movies were all the rage? There was a new one every month or so. I liked it! Naturally, you had zombie comedies like Zombieland and the very rare Zombie romance like the sadly underrated Warm Bodies. That was actually based on a very short story called I Am A Zombie Full of Love. Great title!
Anyways, imagine if you took the slapstick irreverence of Zombieland and combined it with the romantic feels of Warm Bodies. You would get Boyfriend of the Dead! And also a really fun webtoon.
I would say it’s worth reading through it just to see how one lone, hardened… kinda violent survivor of the Zombie apocalypse even manages to fall in love with our soft zombie boy in the first place. And he’s such a picky eater too. Still, you could date worse.
This is a particularly short post. Don’t take this to mean I didn’t enjoy this webtoon. It’s actually really awesome!
