I seem to say this every month but this time it’s truer than ever before! The end of the month really snuck up on me! It’s going to be a short discovery guys, July has been crazy busy, and I haven’t had as much time to discover new blogs as I would have liked!
Plus I got a cold and I’m a huge baby so I cast everything aside for a few days.
You would think that living in Canada I would be equipped to deal with colds but here we are!
Aside from that, there is the Fantasia Film festival happening. I’m seeing a few moves, four of which are anime and I will tell you all about them soon. So please look forward to my reviews for Human Lost, The Relative Worlds, Twilight (not the vampire one although that could be pretty hilarious too. I’ve never seen it, but boy have I heard about it) and Promare. The last of these is Hiroyuki Imaishi’s latest offering so you can imagine that I am looking forward to it BIG time. In fact, I’ve built it up in my head so much that I’m a bit scared there’s no way it could live up.
Wow, this was quite the irrelevant tangent, even by my standards. Sorry about that. Let’s move on to the reason you are really here. Bring on the great blogs!
Sally After Words
This is more of a bookish site than an anime centric one, but Sally does regularly cover Manga and often ones we don’t hear about that much around WordPress. Also, I really like the layout of this blog. It’s soothing.
I started following Sally recently and I’ve already had to add our Dreams at Dusk to my reading list because of this blog. Did that sound like a complaint? It’s not. Thank you Sally!
Just Anime Times
Just anime times took a break for a while… about a year or so! We all know that anime blogs tend to disappear but it’s rare to see one come back and it’s great! You will find episode reviews basically as JustAnime watches them. It’s convivial and fun.
A lot of us tend to stick to the most popular or latest release or have a given field we stick to but not this blog. You can find such a varied assortment and posts that date back years, unlike my usual discoveries. In fact, just this past week I read all about the second episode of The Ancient Magus’ Bride and a slightly less enthusiastic review of Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold.
Fun&Anime
Fun&Anime is a pretty unique site with an adorable mascot! Look at that thing! Soo cute! The author (as they identify themselves which is cool!) shares little games and thought experiments as well as an assortment of lovely or funny anime pictures for when you just want a quick pick me up in your day.
I like this one for obvious reasons!
Anime Tokoyo
Anime Tokoyo (and not Tokyo like I keep saying) started out at the beginning of the month and they really hit the ground running. Yume, Aiya and Neru have been consistently posting reviews of currently airing anime, along with manga reviews and essays on anime-related topics. It’s a great hub for all your anime needs.
Also, you can vote on your early seasonal favourites right here and see if you still have the same impression at the end of summer! It can be surprising how much our tastes change in the span of a few months.
You know what, forget my first paragraph! This was a great roundup. I’m actually a little impressed I managed to pull it off all things considered.
As always, I hope you find a blog to your liking, and I’m sure you will! Have a fantastic read every one. I’m sitting at my computer promising to myself not to be this last-minute next month and watch me put out a panicked post of August 31st making excuses for why I forgot again! I will never learn! Thankfully we still have so many great blogs to discover!
Thanks for sharing new blogs! 🙂 I know it helps them a lot and for me, it’s perfect to get some new great Anime blogs 😉
Hope you find something you like. Glad you have time to read blogs again
Thanks for sharing some great blogs. It is always fun finding new sites to read.
I’m glad if you found something interesting!
I’m really looking forward to your review for Human Lost because lol, you told me about it on Twitter, but I couldn’t find much info on it😊 And of course thanks for sharing these! Since my return I have noticed a few bloggers that I used to follow might have quit, so I might be adding a few new blogs soon.
Ps…I completely ignored the first paragraph, because it’s great that you are doing this! 😊😊
The blogging landscape is in constant evolution!
Thank you for sharing these, I like the idea of Fun&Anime!
Had a bit of a bad day so far and that one cheered me up! Realy cute!
YAY – glad you liked it
